Thats not really true jakestarnes123. The aluminum iMacs today are still pretty flat, contain super drives, and conceal all the connections in the back. The only thing he "went against" from this video is putting the drive in sideways which may slow down performance, although I'm not sure that's a problem with today's technology.

Also, mac mini's are not (and never were) meant to be your main drive. They are quick, cheap, and mostly appropriate for users in a transitional period between pcs and macs. As for the mac pro? It's not a consumer product. They're built for expandability and power, not use for the average consumer.

I don't see why this is getting the thumbs down. This is genuine criticism from a user who had trouble with his hardware, what else is new? Mac's aren't perfect, their good, thats why I want one, but their not perfect. Don't act like anyone who finds a problem with a freakin' computer is somehow assaulting your decision, it's just how macs and pcs are. Mac all-in-ones are great for user convenience and nice design, but are difficult to upgrade. Towers can be a mess, but are easier to upgrade.

true, the new design is much more effective ..at the time putting the drives vertically didn't give them the performance they wanted to make the product shipping-worthy...that's my take on it anyway

i have one and i think its still the most beautiful mac that ever created. once i dont like the design because it looks so different with the G3's. but now i realize that it's a very special computer. a whole design is a masterpiece for me :) wonderful, lively and yes pretty :)

They made a big deal over making sure that the discs don't go in sideways, iMacs today have vertical disc drives. They actually made their screens adjustable back then, buy an iMac or a 24" LED Cinema Display today and there's absolutely no adjustment options, they stay in one place. And probably the biggest thing they've changed is that they stopped caring about their products price tag. Back then Apple had values and morality, but over time I feel like they're slipped away from all that.
