I finally was able to put the US made gas piston in. That along with my FCG and surefire US made butt plate for the magazine puts me in 922r compliance.

Thanks for taking the time to document the conversion, the vids are great resource to just see how its done and it inspires confidence to do it yourself. Any plans on mounting optics for the saiga?

Really enjoyed the entire documentary. I have really wanted to convert my x39 but just put one of the skeleton stocks on it (and dont know if I can get it off LOL!!) Either way, think I will pick up another x39 and do the conversion with your vids on that one. Thanks again.

My Saiga .308 had the skeleton stock, and it came off the same as the sporter stock. The screws were very tight fwiw

Bravo...What was your initial investment in the gun? I have seen them new for as low as 300. If they are as good of quality as what I have heard that is a damn good deal!

The buttstock, gas piston, pistol grip, and trigger group were all US made. Maybe I'm not counting right, but why would you need a US made magazine?

So a box stock rifle would function with a Surefire magazine without any mechanical issues?
That said, would there be any legality issues as well by using a box stock rifle with an American made hicap magazine?
