Video Description:
January 11, 2005 - Also from MacWorld SF 2005's keynote, this video is almost a complete product introduction. Indeed, it took Steve only 5 minutes to introduce the low-cost computer Mac mini, in front of a stunned audience. Enjoy!

See that little silver Apple logo on the one side of it? That makes up for half of the computer's price tag.
Anyway you can run it with any monitor, so if I already have a desktop computer then the mac mini is a good option if I want to own a mac. Besides, the idea isn't just to have a cheap desktop, it's to have a cheap Macintosh. There are cheaper and better alternatives for a MacBook pro too, but they don't run OSX so it's just not the same.
i think its ridiculous to pay extra just to use mac, when you can just pirate a copy and run it on any computer if you want it that bad.
I don't really think just 'being' a Mac should make it worth more either, if the Mac Mini was worth a lot less I'd probably look into getting one, though I do admire Apple's effort to make a more affordable computer.
I see nothing wrong with it...
