The ten commandments is shown in new, never seen before artistic expression in the New Revised Standard Bible and in the making of the illuminated manuscripts there was debate that went into the process of eliminating paragraphs and the use of marks "kites" and footnotes in the Bible based on the copyrights. Tom Ingmeyer an agnostic artist created the illumination for the Ten Commandments and his insightful interpretation of the Ten Commandments is truely amazing. The prolog to the Ten Commandments and the artistic flair shows that if we forget that God is God, these are just good rules versus making it covenantal. The further we get away from God, it show chaos noted as the dark are in the middle of the illumination. This shows the entire book of Exodus, God appearing to Moses and the burning bush, Passover (sacrifice) passing through the waters of the Red Sea and last panel triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the establishment of the 12 pillars or the 12 tribes of Jerusalem.
