Well as for the "how did he know he was speeding?" argument, most modern police vehicles come equipped, in the state of Montana at least, with forward and reverse facing radar emitters. As long as the radar box is set on the right setting the box will give a close, if not exact speed. As for the "Speed trap" argument, its possible. There were 2 signs. 1 on each side of the road. Easiest solution, just listen to the Cops. If the cop was wrong then the judge would throw out the ticket.
