That is still the best alternative to a dollar that is supported by nothing and which the value of is contingent upon how much of it is in circualtion. Printing more money out of thin air is what has been done and creates only debt. Now were there no debt or interest attached to that dollar, it might be different; but the federal reserve is a supreme court deem corporation in the business of profit; a profit at our expense. Okay, I knew we were going to come out with this when you said you'd researched the Federal Reserve. Watching Zeitgeist does not count as research, nor does watching YouTube videos made by watching people who watched Zeitgeist. Since you're a critical thinker, please look into where you're getting your information, and if it's from an echo chamber, then you're not doing research, you're looking for ideas to confirm what you already want to believe.

I think what's not being considered and that neither of us can actually explain, is that what you describe relative to mineral value increasing and decreasing, is not only subject at present to the existing monetary system, but market influences and changes; which we already know are somewhat manufactured. The viable alternative system would be an entirely electronic system, which will come soon enough, but not without a bunch of people who watched Zeitgeist bitching about the new world order. I'm all in favor of being critical of government, but I don't think that conspiracy theorists realize that by conjuring up the most convoluted, wacky, exciting worldview they can, it prevents them from expending nay thought or energy on the real-yet-boring problems that actually affect them.

You knew it would come to that because you know your tendency to assume; and while I did watch Zeitgeist, what I know of the federal reserve, I know from the teachings of Murry M. Rothbard- Economist. I am not an authority; nor do I pretend to be; but just because hisa video might be on youtube or any other site in this information age, doesn't invalidate it or make it any less credible. Histroy books given in schools have been found to contain inaccuracies and a distortion of facts.

Careful of what you allege one guilty of. i.e. accepting only that which supports my beliefs, while you dismiss any that contradict your own. If I make any suppositions, I will present it as such, and not as fact. On the other hand, If I learn something from someone deemed as a credible and reliable source, I will believe that person or teachings, until I disprove it through some practical application myself, or someone more credible than my source can prove what I learned to be inaccurate.

Well, okay, I am certainly glad to hear that you're not getting this stuff simply from Zeitgeist, although keep in mind that movie has really tainted the well for legitimate criticism of the Federal Reserve.
