different technique from me, but seems like it works out fine. tho a good idea for drawing bodies that i use is to make speed sketchs to give me an idea to what i want, there after i draw on top of those.
and basically use my eye to make the rite proportions, because i mean my speed sketchs usually start of with the oval or circular shape of the head and after seeing that proportion its easy to sketch out the body. tho it does take time to learn i guess so your way should be easy.
