Get Inside an Intel 45nm Chip Factory

Uploaded by: channelintel
Video Description:
Intel will launch its first 45nm chips made with reinvented transistors that use a new Hafnium-based high-k metal gate recipe. Take a look inside Intel's 45nm factories where these chips get made. See the many layers or floors of the factory and the automated shuttles that take the wafers from one step to another to ultimately produce millions of Intel's 45nm chips. These buildings are some of the cleanest in the world and so large that 17 football fields can fit inside! Go here for more info: http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/manufacturing/fab32/index.htm?iid=pr1_marqmain_fab32.

why dont you just transfer across the street to D1D development, where we build the latest and greatest? Besides, you wont have to wait anymore since OHV pathways are routed better. Sure, no ROC command center but heck, its better than opening lot boxes.

You don't need college just enthusiasm and an open mind to work for Intel. And the pay is as good as anywhere else where you pull things off. Intel rocks.

If you think that's important, Sun's 64-bit SPARC came 5 years before Itanium... and SPARC still outsells Itanium. Do you run a SPARC or Itanium system though? Odds are you're running an x86 processor with EM64T/AMD64 extensions.. the ones that Intel was forced to offer after AMD started eating their server market share wi

Maybe 15 years ago you didn't need college but today you do. They look for a 2 year technical degree, or they look at military experience. But most people with out degrees are long time Intel employees with 10+ years.

no kidding, if you read the comment from that post, the guy mentioned he worked at Fab 20 and wished he could go to Fab 32 300mm 45nm fab. Since he's already in Oregon, he could just go to D1D or D1C unless he doesn't want to join development group.

"no kidding.."
Thanks for vindicative comment buddy. Your comment wasn't listed as a response to any comment, so this being a video about F32, it wasn't a stretch to think you might have confused the location of D1D and F32.
