The video wasn't freezing, the rocket was. When you have a hollow rocket construct, with loose ragdolls flopping around in it, you have to realize that the thrusters are only moving the rocket, not the models inside. So the rocket moves forward, hits the nonmoving models, and has to overcome their mass with its inertia.
