The first episode of Newsradio after the passing of Phil Hartman (who played Bill McNeal). The cast gathers for a heartfelt remembrance of Bill, who died of a heart attack in the storyline. This was to be the last season of Newsradio.

You said it all. As I am watching this i have tears in my eyes. He would have wanted us to celebrate his life in ways that could only make us laugh. I can't believe its been 10 years and May 29th, 1998 was a very sad day. May he rest in peace and forever live on.

I watched this show all the time when it was on NBC. I really want to get seasons on DVD.
And Phil Hartman was the glue that kept this show together, when he sadly left, it wasn't the same.

I live in the UK and only know Phil by The Simpsons, we didn't get newsradio. I didn't know that he had died until I watched this a few months ago.

I love this show. Have never seen season 5 though (wasn't shown in Australia, for some reason). I'm not entirely sure I want to, without Phil. I couldn't believe it when I heard what happened. Gutting.

It was hard watching this. I know the cast were crying for real when they were reading Hartman's letter. That scene was not acting. Phil Hartman was a great part of News Radio and SNL. He made us all laugh and smile. I miss him so much. I can't believe he would be 60 this year. He was so ageless and funny to me.
