I just removed the thing that holds the CPU on the socket, no need for it.

No, the gloves are mainly to keep oils from skin off of parts, though it does help a little with static. You would/should still use a wrist strap as well. The guys smock also prevents static buildup/discharge as well. I even bet he has some anti static boot straps as well.

I only sound like I know what I am talking about because I worked for a company that assembled cell phones and they used Electrostatic Discharge countermeasures. There, they never had 'wirelesss' wrist straps. The straps they used were always grounded to the workstations. That and we wore ESD smocks and boot straps. My guess and it is a complete guess, is that the 'wirelss' straps should not be used.

The push pins part...that was not even all the way in.
Crappy Intel video refuses to show how much of a pain it really is to get those damn push pins in.
BTW tip for anyone using push pins...put a roll of tape under each pin you push in and use a screw driver will ensure you don't bend your board and will allow you to put more pressure to get them in.
