Actually, Joplin butchered this great song. The best version was the one Gordon Lightfoot took to #1 in Canada. It's on YouTube too. This version by Kris is not that good either, but at least you can see how he meant the song to be sung.

Kris Kristofferson was also a decent actor. Film with Streisand "A Star is Born". I have always thought of him as a guy who played hard and had a love for the ladies. Leading ladies no less. Musically though, he's been cashing out the glory of his early beginnings, riding the coattails of this song now into its fifth decade.
