With all great respect to the late great Pavoratti, may his memory be a blessing, this is not a song that needed an operatic treatment. It works best almosr recited matter of factly, the overwrought over-emotional part when Pavarotti burst into his aria almost made me burst out laughing--but when Lou Reed sings I want to cry. This was a terrible idea!
