What about Ringo? ... ( 4 weeks ago by sunking2001)
What about Ringo? C'mon...he wasn't the singer/songwriter/composer that John, Paul, and George were. I thought everybody knew that...maybe not you.

Maybe what he meant ... ( 4 weeks ago by TestaDiTonno)
Maybe what he meant to say was just that Ringo was an important member of the Beatles... perhaps he wasn't the singer/songwriter/composer that John, Paul and George were, but he was a kind and generous guy and he was very important when the Beatles were quarreling or things like that. If you read the anthology, you'll understand it. If you have already done it, I don't know why you can't understand that Ringo was important.
I'm Italian, so I hope I've spoken my mind clearly.

Don't misunderstand ... ( 3 weeks ago by sunking2001)
Don't misunderstand...I love Ringo and I think he was the perfect drummer for the Beatles. He was definitely a big part of the sum of all four parts, but, it was mainly John and Paul and later George who "changed everything." Let's not forget the 5th Beatle...George Martin...another mastermind who played a big part in their great music. I'm Yugo and Irish and I hope I've spoken my mind even more clearly.

Oh, ok, now I've understood and I agree with you. I'm sorry for my behaviour, but I really love Ringo and I'm used to hear people saying that he's not a good drummer or things like that, and so I'm always ready to defend him eheh...
Keep listening to the Beatles!
(I apologize for my english... I'm trying to do my best, but I'm always embarrassed when I have to talk with people who speak English every day eheh).

You are doing fine, girl..the main thing is that you, me, and all the rest of us Beatle fans simply "can't get enough of the Beatles".. because they produced so much fantastic music"..it's almost unbelievable! I truly believe Ringo was a "genius" in his own way! Ringo has "masterpieces of his own" with "Rain", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "She Said, She Said"...too many to mention!! Every song...Ringo was perfect! Ringo was a perfect fit. You, me and millions of other fans know better.

When they played ... ( 1 week ago by kodybay)
When they played live, they didn't have foldback amps, so they couldn't hear each other playing. They went by strick timing alone and that was provided by Ringo's snare. Not only a tribute to how important Ringo was to this band, but also a tribut to what great musicians these guys were to sound this good with all the screaming. None of these wannabees today could pull this off.

Wow. Just imagine being so amazing that everyone in the crowd is constantly screaming, and you could have sex with like any woman in the entire world

Agreed. They did ... ( 1 week ago by wnseries7)
Agreed. They did have to combat a lot of unwanted noise and overall sound difficulties back then and is a testament to their talent...but I have a tough time believing that all they heard was Ringo's snare. As for vocals, yeah, I doubt they heard much but these were the days before "front of house" hence the healthy amps/cabinets combinations behind musicians back then...which could compete with any standard foldback. Not that this was a cure all...but you'd hear something...albeit muddy.
