great video, good music, a few general rules id like to add is, if it fits, thats where it goes, if there is more than one spot, it will be color coded, if its not, it doesn't matter where it goes

your motherboard manual is VERY important, never lose it, and read it a few times.
I have been a PC builder/enthusiast sence the apple2, good choice with the ASUS, i personaly dislike samsung drives, i just don't care for the low lv utilities

Well, if its dual channel ram, you have to have them in corresponding ram slots. Their colored, so if you put one in say blue (it will most likely be different on your system) put the other in blue too. If you only have one stick, then its faulty ram.

Nice work... loved the video, but you could have said something about don't hook in both power supplies for some of the hard drives... lol... i've done this once... don't hook up both the SATA and the IDE power supplies or you'll end up like me needing a new power supply... lol

yes. NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT series cards has to be good for gaming cause i got a pc that's 4yrs old with ati radeon (cant remember which version) and on 18wosalh it freezes up worse than the one that's 2x as old with NVIDIA GeForce card. i also NEVER buy anything online.

Hey someone told me you cant really upgrade a laptop is that true? Cause i want to play a game on it and ive spent like $350 at a guru (pc person as i like to say) and its faster ya, but still needs much more... and the things i need are apparently unable to be used on a laptop.

I'm guessing you are referring to your video card.
Unfortunatley, unlike desktops, you are out of luck as far as upgrading your chipset/video card for games goes, unless you can find a compatable motherboard for your laptop casing.

Well my video card is top of the line and works perfectly, i can see the opening video perfectly, and the startup menu, its just the gameplay is missing textures and is laggy. ( Im sure they are both related to the same problem.) I thought it was my graphics card, but when i look online all i see is desktop ones.

Gateway and a Compaq destsktop I am going to switch the processor, the Gateway is getting the Compaq's Pentium 4 2.53 Ghz before it was a Intel Celoron. Is that ok? the RAM is 256 on the Gateway. and has a 80 gb and a 40 gb HD.
