Emo is a style of music that sprung out of 80s harcore punk bands. It was pretty much slow punk with more melodic vocals. Great stuff. Post-Emo is more emotional modern version of emo.

how the fuck did you jump from rites of spring to sdre? These guys arent emo, theyre post-emo. Emocore: term popularly used in 2003 by many who were hurt by the recent poisoning of the word emo. Emocore: the term is now outdated.
