I don't think the guy is trying to be rude. Just funny. Kind of like saying "well just steal the show Pavarotti". I highly doubt the guy feels he is anywhere near Pavarotti's level.

thats why they call this a masterclass. Pavarotti takes him to school on support and dynamics. He was belting the whole thing without any shading. Pavarotti shows him light & dark shading. Soft and Loud. Perfect example of control. I love the guys reaction like "sure, easy for you" after Pavarotti sings it the right way.
