its hard when you hear something that touches you so deeply and it relates directly too you and your life. I feel you completely on your comment and its hard but there comes a time in everyones life when you have to move on and not seek acceptance from anyone, even your parents. Unforunately, a lot of parents do have this attitude . . . . I read somewhere that perfectionists have miserable children, and I think that's true. Perfect just doesn't exist, and people like that are incapable of loving themselves, so how can they love others? And expecting your kids to live out your own childhood dreams even if they don't want to is very deluded and harmful. It makes me think of stage parents who want excellence no matter what but their kids suffer because of it.
